Smokey with foal Ishkwane
oils on board, 11x14 inches, framed $500.00 Lac La croix Indian Ponies are in the CRITICAL category (highest risk). Smokey, a grey mare b.1988 and her foal Ishkwane ( Ojibway for I remain/ I survive ) b.2002 are now deceased. Ishkwane was a gullo stud colt out of Smokey x Westly. Both Smokey and Ishkwane were owned by Rare Breeds Canada. Smokey exhibits a long tail, mane and forelock and hairs within the ears all features necessary for survival agaist flies in the woods. Other features are nose flaps to retain body warmth in Winter and spots at the rear of the legs. |
